The military has a ton of resources out there but finding them can sometimes be a pain. Here are some of my favorite resources we learned about for our most recent PCS.

1) The Lending Locker
Did you know the military will loan you basic household goods during a PCS? Here is the link for where to go on Camp Pendleton, but be sure to ask about this at your new location.
2) Plan My Move (PMM)
This site will help create a checklist to guide you through your move.
3) Pet-Friendly Hotel Search
Here, you can search for hotels that accept pets and what the fees are. You can also be reimbursed for pet fees at any of the hotels that are listed on this site.
4) Homes.mil
Ok so there are so many different places to house hunt these days, but I specifically like this one because the homes listed are inspected and verified by a DoD official. This is comforting when you're trying to pick your home from the complete other side of the country. I've heard too many horror stories of people showing up to a home that looks nothing like the pretty pictures online.
5) Department of Defense Lodging
On this site, you can search for places to stay on military bases across the country. Staying on a military base provides me with an extra sense of security. Again, I've heard a story of people staying at a hotel out in town and their truck full of all their belongings was broken into, just to later learn there was a base 30 min further they could've stayed at and potentially avoided this heartbreak. Something to look into. My advice: if you do decide to plan your drive around military lodging, I've heard Air Force bases are the nicest. I never said this, buttttttttt maybe try to avoid the Marine Corps ones.
